Kigali, rest day
Morning spent at the Kigali Genocide Memorial. More than a museum, also a mass grave for 250,000 of the victims of the 1994 genocide.
Arguably the best museum experience of my life. Heartbreaking and ghastly stories, all very well told.
In one room, family photos of victims hang strung together on wires, suspended in the darkness.
The breaking point, the place where tears well for us both: the children’s room.
