Busia to Jinja, 136 km
Sausage and eggs for breakfast! Hearty fuel gives us strength for a hot long day’s ride into Uganda.
The border crossing is a surprisingly smooth affair. On the long ride that follows, groups of children stand roadside waving and screaming their hellos. Cautious when we wave back, because of truck traffic.
We venture into downtown Jinja, returning to camp just before dusk by boda boda (motorcycle taxi) which, making a shortcut across the Nile, we walk over a pedestrian bridge.
