Khartoum to Nairobi, air flight
The drinking starts at 5 am, shortly after we enter Kenyan airspace.
I ask the flight attendant for a coffee, but there is no time to brew before landing. Instead, he offers a choice: beer or wine.
After 18 days without alcohol (it is illegal in Sudan), it appears it’s time to reopen those gates.
In fact, not drinking these last many days is no issue.
Which is a relief.
There was a slightest sliver of concern expressed about dependency after a year of cheap wine and gin in Spain.
