Nile desert camp to Nile ferry campĀ
After a night of high winds, we wrestled our sand-riddled tent into its bag and set off towards another Nile-adjacent desert camp.
Aside from strong crosswinds, today’s ride was mostly about traffic. There wasn’t much of it, but without any shoulders on the highway, every vehicle was a threat.
It seems there is one sort of truck in this part of the world: a white Toyota with red markings. There’s dozens acting as local taxi transport up and down the highway. Always honking, with passengers in the rear waving hello.
Most dangerous are the long distance buses blaring horns and swaying down the highway at reckless speeds.
