Day 6, 116 words

Qena Police Camp to Luxor, 104 km

Riding out of the desert today, we finally found our legs. Made very good time on the approach into Luxor, as the sand dunes subtly gave way to fields of squash and sugar cane.
Arrived in Luxor to the crowds and hustle of another Egyptian city. A police escort over several kilometres eventually spilled us into the Rezeiky Campsite courtyard where we opted for the luxury of a dirty room instead of a dusty tent pitch.
Very aggressive street merchants, not taking no for an answer, ruined a promising walk along the Nile.
I switched to the tour’s vegetarian meal plan effective today. It’s been too much meat for my system over the past 6 days.
