Day 54, 68 words

Kayonza to Nyakasanza, 106 km

A day of contrasts. Leave Rwanda’s tidy, well-swept, litter-free, well-graded, hedge-bordered highways. Say hello to Tanzania’s litter-strewn, pothole-ridden, up-and-down, shoulder-less biways.

A few kilometres before the Kagera river border crossing, we stop roadside for one last photo of two of Rwanda’s thousand hills (mille collines). We are wholly charmed by this small country. Looking forward to our future return.

Tanzania, you certainly have lots to live up to.
