Day 40, 82 words

Kisumu to Busia, 107 km

A tough day starts with a wet tent, a puncture on Linda’s tire, missing out on breakfast and a humiliating ceremony when at Kisumu, where we cross the equator.

Weather cooperates and the scenery throughout the day is magical. As are the Kenyan people.

As we rest in Bumala, a deaf woman struggling to communicate with a mix of cries and signs, makes us feel welcome in her own special way.

An evening thunderstorm cuts short the group’s equator party (for some).
