El Gouna to Safaga, 82 km
The tour operators sure are easing us into this thing. Today’s ride was short and very fast. We were done just after 11. The tent was set up beachside and a beer was in hand before noon. I think I could do this indefinitely. It’s less physical than hanging around at home!
We had (and took) an opportunity in the afternoon to dine on some Egyptian food at a restaurant around the corner. It was delicious. Spent the afternoon otherwise cleaning and lubricating the bikes, napping and such.
It’s terrific to be in a tent again. This new tent is enormous and has a lighting system which makes it easier to navigate after the early 6 o’clock sunset.
