Day 28, 94 words

Rashid to Sudan Border, 92 km

Getting through the afternoon’s high temperatures demands regular rest, shade and rehydration.

A “coke stop” can be a gas station or small store, but in Sudan is typically a roadside shack selling cell phone credits, biscuits and powdered milk. The roar of a nearby gas generator is a signal that they also offer cold drinks. These are often stacked inside a chest freezer located in the darkness at the back of the shack.

Today’s last riding day in Sudan was a hot, two “coke stop” effort. Lots of grassland and rolling hills.

Beautiful country.
